so it's been a while...
and a whole lot has changed. in fact, we've made a few big leaps ourselves...
Amanda and I are teaching yoga. Amanda is starting up a daycare. I'm getting ready to go back to school full-time. I'm going to get my B.Ed. So, my last day in the office was the last day of July... I'm not missing it, yet, but it was a good job... although I'll definitely miss the paychecks.
That being said, I'm slowly decompressing and reconnecting with the kids...
A few of the reasons for the shift in careers:
1-always wanted to be a teacher
2-want to understand my kids better and have a better connection
3-want to have the same schedule as the kids. i don't want to just spend a couple of hours with them, after work, before they go to sleep, year round...
So, I'm excited.
The plan is to teach the same level that they are in... so when they move up to high s
chool, so will i. when they are done, I'll probably start teaching in prisons. I also hope to get my Master of Ed, in the meantime... and then start doing research in Education.
Now, onto the kids...
Dharma's getting bigger and understanding so much -- much more than he is letting on ;-)
He's got his own sense of humour. He also is
able to make space for himself among his siblings... we never have to worry that they are taking advantage of him... he's a tank compared to the other two.
Ethan, on the other hand, can be a bit of a grandmother, no offence to the grandmother's reading this... but he's barely 6... and man, som
etimes motivating him or explaining to him things are not as dangerous or bad as he imagines, can be a bit of a challenge...
but does also know how to have fun...
while we were at the Renfrew cottage, he did catch and release fishing (the only kind for vegan children :-) and caught his first fish and was so excited... he then caught 4 more. he was so exhilerated :-) Kind of like how he gets about his lego... very empassioned.
He's also the perfect older brother. Well tempered and cautious.
Which is very important, since he has a sister like Maya. She's the adventurous adrenaline junkie of the group.
She's also a girlie girl... it's always a challenge to get her out of a dress and into pants, so that she can do the activities, like parks and bike riding that she loves so much...
Finally, here's a shot of the 3 of them together... and once again i'm having problems with blogspot, so i'll have to post again (soon, i promise) to get some more pictures and stories up...
