End of the Summer- Museum Tour

A little late on our post, apologies. So, September has been a quick month for us. Where did the time go? I'm coming to the end of my maternity leave, sob-sob. Actually, I'm REALLY looking forward to working outside of the house again. I'm sure all of you received my email regarding my new business launch. I'm thrilled!
OK, back to the kiddies... I'll include a brief description under the photos for all of you. :)

Maya in a Mexican car of some sort... she loved it for being her size..."so little and so cute".

Maya driving the big bus.. another Mexican theme here too, I think.

Ethan perched on a ledge taking a breath.
Maya found a camel and she took a lot of convincing to move a long... IE. "get off and let's go".

Maya found a huge motorcycle and she just jumped right on and went right to it. Where does she learn this stuff from?

Maya found a puppet show and she was all about telling us stories with each and every animal she found... say hi to turtle.... his name is LEO when he was a baby(of the TMNT variety) .

I asked her to stand against the wall because I really liked the pattern... and this is what she gave me. No clue as to what she is doing. ?

Ethan and Maya found an outdoor pond. They were loving it!

Ethan and Maya all dressed up and painting... well, pretend painting. Ethan was so not fooled.

Ethan in control of moving cargo on the cargo ship. Maya was on deck mopping. Definitely my daughter.

Ethan, Maya, Kevin & Alex on the big Motorcycle that dwarfed Maya.

Dharma was there! Oh, the forgotten child.... we love you.

Ethan Turns 5 and Celebrates All Week Long!

Here we go with Ethan's birthday parties.
One party for friends (both big and small), and the second for family.
Todd and I went crazy with cakes. We made three! Todd also over did it with Chocolate Covered Espresso beans for the adults and Iced Capp's for the kids... not a good idea for any parent to condone.

Transformer cakes... thank you Todd! Ethan and his friends LOVED them... especially the Decepticon cake.

Ethan and his friends (and Maya too) waiting eagerly for cake.

Ethan and his friend having a Wii Boxing match. Funny.... they both have there little legs kicking.

Hello guys! Little Dharma is stunned... I think he just woke up.

Hey ya Mr. D. I love the independent play stage.

U. Peter and Ethan opening gifts.

U. Ben and Maya chillin'.

Maya loved her Tiger face that she had painted at the Circus. She STILL to this day pretends she's a Tiger.

Ethan brought back a cool(in relative terms) GLOWING Light saber from the Circus. He swung it around making light saber noises all day until it broke and the light stopped glowing. Now it is hidden somewhere in the back of his closet.

Ok, this photo of Maya is priceless! Todd caught her touching her tongue to her nose. ??? She says that she learned this behaviour from Daddy. I haven't made up my mind on this one yet.

July and August at Granny's Cottage

Wow, what a summer for cottage trips! We ventured up to Lake Tomiko twice this summer, and boy did we have great weather. Our first trip was just for an extended weekend, but the second trip was for twelve days.... and those twelve days were Phenomenal.

I'll provide some description to the photos... not that it's really needed. ; )

Here we have Todd and Maya in the heaviest Kayak known to man... Todd tried getting off the shore, but didn't really get too far out (I'll give him 3 feet tops).

Cutie pies... Daddy and Dharma chillin'.

Dharma loves hats... hold on to your hat Papa, he's going for it.

And, little D got it! Cute hat D.

Nana putting Scuba gear on Maya... but Maya can't swim. Hmm... that could be a problem.

Ethan ventured out on the paddle boat to chat with our cottage neighbour, Susan.
He was just making sure she was alright. You may notice (like I just did) that he is NOT wearing a life jacket here and he is all alone and can't swim.... I guess that wasn't really well thought out on our part. Oh Shit. To make me feel better though, the water is only 2 feet deep at the most.
Ethan and Maya found something in the sand on our beach. Can you guess what it could be?
Ethan checking things out.
Maya checking things out.
We've caught a frog! Ethan named him Mikey. Maya, stop poking at him already.

Dharma in his bath having some laughs and splashing a lot!

The gang dead a sleep on our way back home from the cottage.

Weekend in North Bay

Just this passed weekend we made our way up to North Bay. We had a great time with Granny. She kept the kids busy with rides on the train and carousel. If anyone is looking for a fun time for little ones, check out North Bay down by the Lake.

Choo Choo.... all aboard! Daddy took Maya and Ethan for a train ride. As Ethan pointed out, "this Steam Engine doesn't make loud noises". :) He gave it his smile of approval.

Maya held on tight so Daddy could take the photo.

Ethan enjoyed the Carousel ride too. These horses don't cause allergic reactions... phewf!

Hay is for horses Guys! :)

Granny and Mommy waving and smiling on the side lines.

Dharma squints with his sleepy eyes. Nighty-Night. Nappy time.

More summer trips to come and photos to share, see you all soon and we hope you take care.

Canada Day in Renfrew

This is the Renfrew Cottage. The photo was taken from the point.

Grandma Jane and Maya having some buddy time. Maya spent most of her day shadowing "Jane".

Dharma and Daddy. Nice new hat little D. Dharma sprung his 1st tooth about a week earlier.

Maya and Ethan getting ready to slide down the big old rock.

Grandpa Doug and Ethan going for a ride on the 4 wheeler. Ethan would not even look at it last year, but he loved it this year. He even asked for 2nds.

The "wild and crazy" Maya had her fare share of fun too. No surprise.

We couldn't pass up a boat ride. Grandpa Doug took us on a tour of the Lake. Check out Ethan in front... all by himself! He was quite the dare devil. He requested that G. Doug go "really, really fast", while he reached out his arms for the sky and squeeled and bounced with excitement. Maya sat beside me and snuggled in nice and tight.

Todd joins Maya for a growl and a roar .... "we're like lions", she says.

Happy Canada Day!
